Hydrun HY-F

magnet and dirt filtration

THE FUTURE OF FILTRATION

Hydrun HY-F is a fully featured magnetite and debris arrestance filter unit that combines a powerful neodymium magnetic filter with both metal mesh, removable strainer basket and disposable synthetic bag filters

Hydrun HyY-F is designed with flexibility in mind to meet the increasingly stringent demands placed on modern heating and cooling systems , achieving efficiencies of filtration down to 1 micron. With a generous 0,5 m2 filter capacity,

Hydrun HY-F can trap a large quantity of debris extending the service interval.Quick-release lid fixings provide ready access to the magnet, strainer and bag filter during cleaning.

A lifting handle is provided on the strainer basket and an optional lightweight basket is available for the disposable bag filters.

Ideal for district heating, district cooling, energy networks, commercial HVAC.

Self cleaningThe MA-XL has an auto cleaning function, so you don't need to. A disposable filter bag option is also available

Easy AccessDesigned for easy access to the magnet and arrestance basket

Energy savingInnovative technology that protects hydronic plant and needs no extra power to filtrate.

Why do we need magnetic water filtration systems

Why do we need magnetic water filtration systemsMagnetic water filtration systems are primarily used to protect heating systems and industrial machinery from "sludge" or magnetite—a black, muddy substance formed by internal corrosion. In residential settings, they are essential for maintaining the efficiency and longevity of boilers and central heating systems. Why You Need a Magnetic Filter
Preventing System Sludge: Over time, water reacting with metal pipes and radiators creates iron oxide (rust). Without a filter, this settles into a heavy sludge that causes cold spots in radiators, noisy boilers, and eventual system failure.
Reducing Energy Bills: Sludge buildup forces your boiler to work harder, increasing energy consumption. Installing a magnetic filter can improve radiator output by up to 47% and lower gas usage by up to 70% in some systems.
Extending Equipment Lifespan: By capturing nearly 100% of ferrous debris, these filters protect expensive components like heat exchangers and pumps from abrasive wear.
Securing Warranties: Many modern boiler manufacturers require a magnetic filter for their maximum warranty period, sometimes extending it to 10–12 years.
Environmental Sustainability: Unlike disposable paper or cartridge filters, magnetic filters are often a permanent "fit-and-forget" solution that can last up to 20 years with simple annual cleaning, reducing plastic and chemical waste. Industrial ApplicationsIn manufacturing and machining, magnetic filtration is critical for:
Protecting High-Precision Tools: It removes ultra-fine metallic particles (even those smaller than 1 micron) that would otherwise scratch products or damage delicate machinery.
Extending Fluid Life: It keeps coolants, lubricants, and cutting oils clean, reducing the need for frequent fluid changes and specialized hazardous waste disposal.

How do magnetic water filtration systems work

Magnetic water filtration systems work in two main ways:
Magnetic filters capture metallic debris (like rust) in heating systems using strong magnets, preventing sludge buildup, Magnetic Filters improve flow, efficiency, and protect appliances, : filters catch solid particles, .
Magnetic Filters (for Heating Systems)
Mechanism: A powerful magnet (often neodymium) is placed in a casing on the return pipe to the boiler.
Process: As dirty water flows through, ferrous (iron) particles and rust sludge are attracted to the magnet and held, stopping them from circulating and damaging the boiler or radiators.
Maintenance: The collected debris can be cleaned off the magnet during annual servicing, allowing for reuse.
